It ain't the years, It's the mileage. I was raised a military brat, and wanderlust still comes over me every 3 or 4 years. Still love to travel.

Okay it's official. Rita is a MONSTER Storm

Rita has turned into a catagory 5 Hurricane. And it looks like (at the moment anyway) that it's gonna be our turn.

Hold onto your hats folks...

This is now the third largest storm ever recorded. Could have sustained winds of 170 miles per hour at landfall, Saturday night...

The mayor of Houston has asked all employers to keep only essential personnel at work. And the big clam has obliged by closing their (at least) downtown facilities. Good thing too, as we've got plenty of work to do here in Katy. We could be in deep dooty.

I think if you can, you should head for the hills as soon as you can manage it.

Not sure what we're gonna do yet...Don't think we can get any wood for the windows. Stores out here in the hinterlands have sold out...

Run for it!

Of course this could all change by Saturday...But I doubt it cuz we're probably Looooooonng overdue for one these mothers.

By the way I should give credit to the NOAA for the photo.
